Your Company’s Social Media Strategy in 2021

Your Company’s Social Media Strategy in 2021

This past year posed many unfortunate obstacles for small business owners. Yet, we did learn a lot about creative social media strategies in 2020. Many of these strategies did prove successful and should be carried over into the new year. Times are changing, how should your company adjust in 2021?

With the growth of online shopping, your e-commerce sites should carry over onto social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Instagram recently improved the shopping experience for users. Instagram has proved to be a strong brand-building platform.  “Social shopping” is an emerging trend. If your potential customers have the ease of purchasing your product with a simple swipe, then let it happen.

87% of e-commerce shoppers believe social media helps them make a shopping decision.*

2020 taught us that we cannot rely solely on bots. Shoppers still have questions, and need human responses. When an associate or your social media manager is able to respond within a timely matter, the customer has more confidence with their purchase. This is especially important to remember in 2021. Being transparent and authentic is smart marketing. Setting up automatic questions and answers on your Business Facebook Page is still encouraged, but remember to add the human touch.

If you have fast-moving information and a high engagement rate, Twitter is up your alley. Perfect for non-profits and retail, you can repeat information and include links in your posts to direct consumers to your website.

Ads on TikTok’s platform soared in 2020. At first considered for the younger crowed, adults are now jumping in on the fun video-creation platform. Use this for product placement, branding, content influencers and soft-selling techniques.

Regardless of what platforms your company uses, remember the 4 C’s of COVID-19 content: community, contactless, cleanliness, and compassion. Keep your content non-invasive and remind consumers they are safe in your store.
