This new initiative from Facebook will allow unsigned artists to promote, stream, and market their music for free across Facebook and Instagram platforms. This is a brilliant move by Facebook because it will drive users to their platform even more. Making the music of these unsigned artists available on Facebook for free will have users listen to these artists exclusively on the social media platform and not on a different music streaming platform. 

This initiative will help many struggling musicians who have been at this for years or even for musicians looking to get their start and maybe are unsure of where to begin. The hardest part for many artists and musicians when looking to pursue the music industry is expressing that breaking in is the toughest part. Hopefully, this initiative will help spread awareness about these artists and give them a platform that they can hopefully thrive on.
