Google+ has announced it is coming to an end. This rumor has been flying around for a while, but today they made it official saying they have low user engagement. Another reason for the shutdown is due to a flaw discovered in March that possibly exposed personal information of up to 500,000 people.
The platform was supposed to challenge Facebook’s platform with similar functions such as “likes.” The company announced they will phase the platform out over 10 months, allowing for businesses to download any data they may still want.
