Twitter Community Feature

Twitter is developing a community feature that has the potential to be something extremely exciting and immensely useful. Much like Instagram’s “Close Friends” feature this new tool on Twitter will allow users to share tweets with specific people only. This has a lot of potentials as there are many different ways that influencers can use this feature to their advantage. Adding users to a “Community” makes it exclusive, private, and allows some users to feel like they are in on something special.

This new feature can create a space for influencers to market their brand and products to special fans and to a special audience. This will give influencers and content creators the opportunity to make exclusive content just for this audience. One plus side to this is that the content creators will already know who they are marketing to and the demographic they are trying to reach. They will know this because the user is the one who selects the people to add to their “community.”  The user can add and take out people at their choosing. This allows for content creators to focus all of their attention on the content rather than on trying to determine their market and who is positively and negatively responding to their work.  Having had their followers and people who interact with them regularly building a “community” should not be as difficult as creating content for a platform that you are unsure of your following would be.

This new Twitter Community feature is a giant step in the right direction for them in terms of helping their content creators and influencers. This will help so many people secure that their content is going to the right people and that it is being seen and engaged within the right capacity. This feature will definitely need some testing out but it should make for a great addition to the platform.
